These pile rugs represent some of the last truly nomadic production in Afghanistan, so are becoming more rare. They are three-dimensional and have rougher, longer pile. Their rich colours are mesmerising and vary from deep purples, reds and oranges to natural creams and browns. Symbols are mostly taken from the nature. The Taimani are Persian-speaking semi-nomadic people from western Afghanistan. This piece comes from Farsi district in Herat province. Learn more about these beauties here.
